Description Of Work:
Catherine designed and implemented the renovation of the entire first floor of our older Victorian house, as well as an upstairs bathroom. Depending on the room, the work ranged from modest (new paint, wallpaper, refinished floors) to more significant (taking off plaster down to the studs, new windows and doors). She brought in and oversaw a contractor and various service providers to do the needed work. She selected paint, wallpaper, window treatments, lighting, furniture, art and accessories.

We were very pleased with Catherine's work and would highly recommend her to others. There were several reasons that we liked working with Catherine. Probably most importantly to us, Catherine told us at the start that she would take complete responsibility for all aspects of the renovations, whether done by her or by the other people that she brought into the house. She really did do that, and personally addressed every issue that came up. That mattered a great deal to us, because we had never attempted such a major renovation before. Catherine had a great sense of design and style for an older house like ours. She really changed the look of the house quite a bit, but did so in a way that respected and built on its distinctive existing features. The way that she worked with us was to present us with options for each room and refined those options based on our feedback. Every once in a while she asked us to take a chance on an option that she thought would really work well (like painting our woodwork, which we were hesitant to do) and in each case she was exactly right. Both Catherine and everyone she brought into the house were extremely professional and friendly. The house was always cleaned up at the end of the day and the work was organized in a way that was respectful of our schedules, including holidays or other family times.
